Yin Yoga @WOA

Yin Yoga is a slower form of yoga with longer hold times than other styles of yoga like Vinyasa yoga. Most poses are done seated, prone or supine. The goal of Yin Yoga is to target the connective tissues like ligaments, tendons, and fascia with the aim of increasing circulation in the joints and improving flexibility. Since Yin poses are held longer we only start out at about seventy percent of our capability to find our edge in each pose. Hold times can vary per class. For beginners, hold times can start anywhere from 1-3 minutes per pose. Intermediate practitioners may experience holds of 3-5 minutes per pose while those that have been practicing longer may have worked up to 10 minute holds.

NOTE: This class is offered at Workout Anytime in Leeds on Mondays at 11am. although you may register for this class on this website, you will still have to register at WOA Leeds in person, at the front desk or by calling WOA at 205-702-2789 and requesting to be added to the class schedule. WOA is responsible for accepting all payments at this location. This class is included in Premium memberships. If you are not a member this class is $7.00 per visit.

Vinyasa Yoga @MCC

Vinyasa Flow

This sequence will begin with centering and gentle warmup stretches, followed by Sun Salutations to build heat in the body. We will then flow through a series of standing, balancing and seated poses matching our movement with breath. Participants need to be able to easily get up and down multiple times from floor to standing as it is part of the vinyasa flow.

This class is held at the Moody Civic center and they are responsible for collecting your payment. Please arrive a few minutes before class begins so that you have time to check in at the front desk, sign waivers, make payment and set up your space. Class fees as of 1/1/24 are $2.00 for members and $5.00 for non-members subject to their changes.

Vinyasa Flow

This sequence will begin with centering and gentle warmup stretches, followed by Sun Salutations to build heat in the body. We will then flow through a series of standing, balancing and seated poses matching our movement with breath. Participants need to be able to easily get up and down multiple times from floor to standing as it is part of the vinyasa flow.

This Class is held at Workout Anytime in Leeds at 11am and I am unable to collect payment for it. You may register here of course, but you will also have to register at WOA Leeds by either calling 205-702-2789 or if you are a member going to myiclubonline.com and registering. Please arrive a few minutes early to check in at the desk, make your payment and set up your space. Class fee is $7 for non-members payable directly to WOA onsite.

Slow FLow Yoga @MCC

This class is beginner friendly and can be a great way to learn yoga. Its pace is generally slower than a Vinyasa class. We will still flow through poses but will hold poses typically 3 - 5 breaths allowing us to move with more awareness. This allows us to leave more time to find mindfulness in our movements and awareness of the breath. Think of it as a moving meditation. Participants still need to be able to get up and down from the floor easily. Please bring your own yoga mat along with any props you have as they are not provided.

This class is held at the Moody Civic Center and they require the following:

Please arrive 5-10 minutes before class begins so that you can stop at the desk to sign up/sign in, make payment and then set up you class space. Cost for members is $2 per visit and cost for non-members is $5 per class. If you arrive late please come in quietly and do not interrupt others practice. the class is listed at $0. as I do not accept payment for it. That is collected at the civic center.

Silver Sneakers Chair Yoga @MCC

SilverSneakers Yoga

SilverSneakers Yoga will move your whole body through a complete series of seated and standing yoga poses. Chair support is offered to safely perform a variety of postures designed to increase flexibility, balance and range of movement. Restorative breathing exercises and a final relaxation will promote stress reduction and mental clarity.

This Class is held at the Moody Civic Center on most Tuesday and Thursdays at 1:00 pm. Class participants must wear tennis shoes. Please arrive a few minutes early to check in altho eh desk, make any payment arrangements and then find a space in class. You may register on this website but must also register at the front desk at this location.

Yoga Nidra @MCC

Yoga Nidra is translates to yogic sleep and is one of the easiest yoga practices to perform and maintain. It is a form of meditation performed while lying in a comfortable position on your yoga mat and allows you to practice a deep waking sleep with awareness by unwinding the five subtle bodies also know as the Koshas.

This class is held at the Moody Civic Center and must also be registered for in person at the desk when you arrive to check in. Class fees are $2.00 per person for members and $5.00 per person for non-members. Please arrive a few minutes before class to check in, pay and set up your space.

Yoga Poses on the Pavilion at Cat-n-Bird Winery

Join me for another great year of Poses on the Pavilion at Cat-n-bird Winery. This class will be an all level vinyasa flow and includes a glass of wine with your class. This sequence will begin with centering and gentle warmup stretches, followed by sun salutations to build heat in the body. We will then flow through a series of standing, balancing and seated poses matching our movement with breath. Participants need to be able to move easily from the floor to standing as this is part of the vinyasa flow.

* Please note that the style of class offered may differer during the summer months to accommodate for the weather/heat. The classes offered would be Vinyasa flow, VinYin which is a combination of Vinyasa flow and Yin yoga, to just a Yin yoga class. Please message me for any questions you my have regarding the class format.

If interested in attending class please register online at tryyogawithme.offeringtree.com and we will reserve your spot. Class fee is $30.00 payable on site directly to Cat-n-Bird Winery. You must be registered online before class starts in order to participate in class. Class starts promptly at 11:00 am. Please arrive early to check in at the winery, pick your glass of wine, and set up your space for class. Make sure to wear comfortable clothing and don't forget to bring your own yoga mat and props as they are not provided. A small hand towel and bottle of water are also recommended.

After class ends make sure to hang out and enjoy all the offerings from live music to amazing food trucks.. Don't forget to check out the boutique store across the street and even pick up a cheese board while you are there.

Yoga by the Lake

Yoga by the lake is a special class offering hosted by some of the residents at Twin Lakes. This class is a slow flow Vinyasa style class that is adapted to the needs of those who attend. During the warmer periods different styles of yoga will be offered such as Yin Yoga which is a seated class with long holds aimed at targeting the connective tissues. Please be aware that this class is held outside and will be cancelled if it's raining. Always check the schedule 30 minutes to 1 hour before class begins to verify.

If attending I recommend you bring a yoga mat along with a beach towel or blanket to go under your yoga mat and a towel to lay on top if you need it. This class is in the shade but still gets quite warm during the summer. You will need to bring a bottle of water, sunglasses, sunscreen and bug spray. Make sure to wear cool comfortable clothing. Please know that there is no public bathroom available.

The Class fee for Yoga by the lake is $11.00 and is not refundable unless it is rained out on the day of event. If class is cancelled due to weather I will issue you a class credit that can be used for a future lake yoga or deck yoga or a yoga class at Ultimate Fitness gym. There must be at least three people registered for class by Thursday at 12:00 pm in order to hold class. If there is not three people registered then class will be cancelled and class credits will be issued for a future class. If there is an emergency refunds can be requested and will be issued at my discretion.

Yoga on the Deck

Sit, Sip and stretch your way through a relaxing slow class. This class is hosted by friends at Twin Lakes subdivision at a private residence. Class style can vary from slow flow Vinyasa to Yin Yoga. Please message me before signing up if you are not sure which class is being offered and you need to know. You are welcome to bring a beverage to sip.

Class is held outside on the deck and you must bring your own yoga mats and any props you may need. Class fee is $11.00 per person and is non refundable unless class is cancelled by host Dues to weather or low attendance. Refunds will be issued as a class credit to use for a future event upon cancellation For similar event fee.
this class is held at 1104 Lake Joyce Road across the street from the pavilion on the right. It’s the 1st house with large deck above driveway.

Private consultation

A private yoga consultation is an opportunity for each person to have a 1:1 sit down to discuss your needs and what you are expecting to gain from the practice of yoga. During this time we will discuss your current lifestyle. For example: your daily routine as it relates to your current physical ability as well as any health issues or concerns you may want to share so that we are able to outline a wellness routine to fit your lifestyle. We will also complete a client intake form so that we can assess your current lifestyle and schedule and to see if we are a good fit to work together. If I feel that your needs are outside of my scope of practice or they do not align with my current offerings or schedule availability I will be glad to refer you to another teacher with more experience than myself.

Mindfulness Walk/Walk and Talk

Join me for a local walk and talk where we will discuss how to take part in a mindful walk. This is a very simple form of meditation that can be done almost anywhere. We can practice different ways of walking mindfully and see what option works best for you. There is a basic skill of learning to be present in the moment and letting go of whatever else arises during your walk. This walk can also be a walk and talk exercise where we can release whatever is no longer serving you through discussion and enlist the 8 limb path of yoga to help you find a state of blissful peace and enlightenment. If you are interested in taking this class then please message me for details as this class is location based and by appointment only. I am available to meet during the week around my class offerings with advance booking in the following areas. Leeds, Moody, Odenville and Springville.

Booking Fee

If you would like to reserve a space on my schedule in order to hold a class then you would need to pay the class booking fee. This fee is $30.00 and is non refundable. It is to ensure your space on my calendar and to discuss/plan what you would like to offer. This fee is charged in addition to other fees paid by each person joining class and/or a total fee to hold the class.

Restorative Yoga @MCC

Restorative yoga is the practice of softening into yoga poses with the help and support of yoga props such as blankets, bolsters, blocks and straps. The yoga poses can be held up to 20 minutes at a time so there can be very few poses per class. Restorative yogas purpose is to allow the body to relax so it is a very passive practice that allows us to drop into a deep state of awareness allowing us to surrender to our true self. Restorative yoga allows the body to start healing, leading us away from suffering which is yogas true and highest purpose.

This class is a special offering as it is prop intensive and there are only so many spaces per class. Please make sure to register and verify space limits if you do not have your own yoga props.

Wellness Retreat

Join me Saturday November 8th at 3:30 pm for a wellness event. This event is hosted at a private residence located in Pell City AL at 5045 Wolf Creek Road 35128. There is a class fee of $15 plus a small processing fee. You must be registered by November 7th at 12:00 pm in order to attend event.

The days events will include:

3:00 - 3:30 pm - Arrive on site and set up your yoga mat, camp chair, cooler, etc.

3:30 - 4:30 pm - A mindfulness walk with the property owner who will also highlight some of the native plants along the path and answer questions you may have.

Jackie Cockrell from Barn Bubbles Goat Milk Soap will also be on site to talk about some of the native plants that she uses in several of her offerings. She will also be bringing some of her products to sell including her fabulous goats milk soaps! If you haven't tried them before you are in for a treat! Please get with Jackie on payments and purchases for these items.

4:30 - 4:45 pm - Short break.

4:45 - 5:30 pm - Yoga class, sit, sip, stretch - a slow stretch class on our yoga mats (mats are not provided, please make sure to bring your own along with any props needed. (no ones asking what's in your cup)

5:30 - 6:00 pm - Yoga Nidra (cuddle up on your yoga mat for a relaxing yoga Nidra. (Plea bring a blanket, pillow or anything else you may need to make yourself very comfortable.)

6:00 - 6:15 pm - Short break.

6:30 - 7:30 pm- Gather around the fire, savoring the moments with the company of others where we will roast marshmallows and hotdogs.

*Please make sure to bring your own beverages as they are not provided as well as a camp chair and your yoga mat. If you have any questions please reach out to me and I will be happy to help.
